Introducing Jagin, a must-try soba restaurant in Osaka, Japan.
Here are two must-try menu items at Tori Soba Jagin (Niboshi Branch):
-
Tori Soba
- A light yet flavorful chicken-based soba soup. The broth is carefully crafted from fresh chicken stock, giving it a clean, savory taste that perfectly complements the chewy noodles.
-
Tori Tsuke Soba
- A dipping-style soba dish served with a rich, concentrated chicken broth on the side. Dip each strand of soba into the sauce for an intense burst of flavor in every bite.
Tori Soba
Tori Tsuke Soba
Having tried both dishes, I can say Tori Soba is perfect for experiencing the richness of the broth with the noodles already in the soup. Meanwhile, Tori Tsuke Soba really highlights the springy texture of the noodles. While the soup itself is delicious, I was most impressed by how satisfyingly chewy the noodles were.
Please note that the prices may have increased slightly since my last visit. Also, the waiting time can be quite long, so it’s best to plan for about 20–40 minutes of waiting before you go.
The interior features a sleek black color scheme, creating a clean and minimalist atmosphere. The staff is friendly, and the service is top-notch—just like you’d expect from a Michelin Guide–recommended restaurant.
Finally, I’m sharing a photo of the gobo (burdock) tempura, which left just as strong an impression on me as the noodles.
